American Star takes his chance in The Gimcrack

American Star looks fantastic and has been working very well. His last proper piece of work with Desert Doctor was excellent and certainly gives me the confidence that he deserves to take his chance in a race as hot as the Gimcrack at York today. There are obviously some very good horses in opposition, but we will certainly get a feel for where he lies in the pecking order.

Zulu Tracker has been working well and this looks a nice place to start him off. It’s obviously a competitive race with the first two in the betting with very good form in the book already but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him run very well. Whatever he does he will improve on and he will probably stay a little bit further so let’s hope for a debut full of promise. He’s looking and moving great, he has a good attitude although I wouldn’t be surprised to see him getting a little bit warm as he is a bit of a free sweater.
