First day of the Ebor meeting

Today we start the York Ebor meeting with two exciting runners.

Mountain Peak lines up in the 1.50pm 5f Handicap under Andrea Atzeni. He has been in great form since his Ascot win and he goes in to this very competitive Handicap in good nick. He looks fantastic and is taking his racing very well, but I’m under no illusions how tough it will be for him running off a career high mark of 100 but I have no doubt he will try his very best as always and will probably surprise us all once again!

Tenaya Canyon (pictured) is improving all the time and came out of her win at Doncaster very well. She takes her change in the 4.45pm Fillies Handicap over 5f and Saffie Osborne takes the ride. She’s looking extremely well at the moment, getting bigger and stronger as the season goes on. This is another nice prize to aim at and I’m confident she will run to her best which I’m hoping will be good enough.

Closer to home at Bath, Mount Mogan goes in to this race in good order and I think its an ideal spot for him. This trip on fast ground is exactly what he needs and I’m hoping the rain stays away for him. It is a wide open race and he is very difficult to win with, but he will be running in a Visor for the first time which will hopefully help and I’m hopeful can finally get his head back in front.
