Weekend runners
We have a reasonably quiet weekend with three runners. Today Cap Francais and Caradoc line up at Ascot:
Cap Francais (pictured below with Racheal) is as well as I’ve had him and I’ve been pleased with him ever since his disappointing run at Haydock. The stiff mile at Ascot on the straight course should be ideal for him and it looks an open race to me. I’m surprised that he is such a big price, he is an inconsistent horse but I’m hoping it was just the ground last time and that he can get back on track today.
Caradoc is in super form and ready to go again. This looks a wide open Handicap and I am very much hoping for a ‘no excuses’ run and to see him getting him back on track. Things didn’t go his way last time out but I like this horse a lot and I don’t think we have seen the best of him yet so I am really hopeful of a big run.
Jack d'Or is our one runner on Sunday. He heads to Salisbury for the 4.30pm under David Probert. He is in great form and I’m really looking forward to seeing him back on a sound surface. It’s a competitive race but if he puts his best foot forward he should have a great chance of getting is head in front.
Best of luck to connections and thanks to Gary and the team travelling the horses this weekend in such warm weather.
