5 runners today at Haydock

We have 5 runners heading to Haydock again today. See below for Ed's thoughts on their chances.

Dark Spectre (1.15pm, Oisin Murphy) is ready to run and he has been working well but I think he will be in need of the experience and I have no doubt he will come on a bundle for the run. He’s a big horse and has ability and I think he will stay further in time but this is a good starting point for him.

Jonah Jones (2.45pm, Oisin Murphy) is in great shape. We are still learning about him and this will be his first run for me so we will see how he gets on.

Blackheath (3.15pm Oisin Murphy) has been in super form at home and this is a great spot for him to start, although I wish the ground was a bit quicker. It looks a very open race and although he is not drawn well, I hope he can get a good position and give a good account of himself.

Cap Francais (3.45pm Andrea Atzeni) has been working well recently and if he puts his best foot forward and on his best form he should be right up there today. Let’s hope he gets back on track.

Matthew Flinders (5.20pm Oisin Murphy) is a horse I have always liked and I am very much looking forward to seeing him make his debut on the track today. The ground should be ideal for him and Haydock is the perfect place to introduce a horse so I am hoping he runs with great promise.

Best of luck to connections and thanks to the travelling team on the road today. Pictured below is Matthew Flinders, ridden by Elda at home.
