6 runners today at Newbury and Nottingham
We have six runners today, five of which head to Newbury and one heads to Nottingham.
First up at Newbury, Assimilation runs at 2.45pm over 7f. He came out of his win at Wolverhampton really well and I’m hoping he can translate that form on the turf today.
Grimsthorpe Castle then runs in the 3.20pm 2yo Novice over 7f. He is ready to make his debut and has been showing plenty of ability at home but like all of my 2yo’s will certainly improve for the run.
He’s Amazing drops back in trip to a mile in the 4.25pm and he is more than capable of being very competitive in a race of this nature if he puts his best foot forward, but it is just hard to know with him how much effort he is going to put in!
Baryshnikov also runs in this race. He runs in cheekpieces for the first time today and that should help bring about the necessary improvement for him to get his head in front, but he would not want any rain to fall.
Jack d’Or has been in good form at home and steps up in trip today in the 6.05pm over 1m2f. There are a few progressive and unexposed sorts in the race, much like himself, but if he sees out the mile and a quarter on turf as well as I think he will then hopefully he will get his head in front.
Further North, Capriolette runs in the 8.00pm at Nottingham. She has not progressed as she threatened to and so we try her over a left handed track over a longer trip today. Hopefully she can get back on track.
Best of luck to all connections today! Pictured below is Jack d'Or looking very photogenic!
