8 runners across 4 meetings today
After a slightly quieter but succesful 10 days, where we have had 3 winners and a few placed horses, we have got a busy day today with 8 runners at 4 different meetings, as well as selling three horses at Tattersalls this morning.
Duckett’s Grove and He’s Amazing go head to head at Ascot in a competitive mile and a quarter handicap. He’s Amazing is a talented horse with his quirks and if he puts his best foot forward like he did at Windsor earlier in the year, he could be very hard to beat. Duckett’s Grove is a big frame of a 3yo who is improving all the time and he could also run a big race coming back in trip. He looked to not stay at Goodwood, so we are very hopeful.
Baryshnikov was very disappointing at Goodwood in his seasonal debut but got back on track at Windsor and I think coming back to a mile at Ascot will really suit him today.
Swindler has been off the track for a while but has got some rock solid form in the book last year and the stiff 6f at Ascot will be ideal, so hopefully he can get off to a good start to his season.
Royal Intervention and Fille De Reve go in search of black type up at York. Royal Intervention is obviously already a Stakes winner having won the Empress last year. She is also Group 2 placed and ran well in the Commonwealth Cup last time. Hopefully we can make her a Group 3 winner today. Fille De Reve is a very talented filly and extremely well bred so we are desperately trying to nick some black type with her.
Brigham Young has been a tricky type to train and has not run in a long time, but heads to Chester in good form so hopefully he can run well.
Mountain Peak has been disappointing so far this year but is a talented horse and is now on a winning mark so hopefully the return to 5f on a conventional track will see him bounce back to form.
Best of luck to all the team, horses and owners today and a big thank you to the travelling team on the road all over the country today!
