A big day with 10 runners

We have an exciting day ahead with runners in several Stakes races across three meetings, Longchamp, Ascot and Newmarket.

Stormy Antarctic left yesterday morning for France ready to run in the Daniel Wildenstein today. The ground will be soft and understandably for a Group 2 it’s going to be a very competitive race, but his form in France is excellent and if he’s at his best then he’s capable of winning so I think it’s well worth the shot.

Glenartney is declared to run in France today in the Prix de Royallieu and she’s extremely well in herself. It looks a good opportunity to get some Group 1 form and I am not convinced by the strength of the form of the favourites. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Glenartney run a huge race under Olivier Peslier, especially if she can settle.

Molls Memory has been training really well and I’m very excited about having a shot at some Black type with her.  She looks great, is moving very well and the more rain the better.

Sunset Bay looks extremely well, especially given the change in the weather. I’m not thrilled with her draw in 1, but otherwise it’s the perfect race for her to try and get some Black Type. If she puts her best foot forward I think she will have a great chance of finishing in the first 3 which will be huge.

Great Ambassador is very well in himself . He has obviously not done a lot since Ayr but Jack who rides him every day has been very happy with him. This looks a good spot for him and I’m very excited about seeing him over Ascot’s stiff 6f which I think is made for him. It’s great that Richard is riding and hopefully he can get back to winning ways after what was such a frustrating race in Scotland.

Piffle heads to Newmarket today for a valuable sales race where she carries a very low weight and has got a great chance of winning some excellent prize money. We are drawn well in 29 of 30 which means she will come up the preferred stands rail. She looks fantastic and her work has been really good, I do think she is an improving filly and I’m hoping that she can run a big race.

Dreamloper came out of her frustrating race in Ireland very well and I’m looking forward to seeing her have another shot at Group 1 level. I think the first two in the betting will be very hard to beat if they run to form as they have done for most of the season, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dreamloper run a huge race.

Primo Bacio looks magnificent, still with a very good coat and I’m really looking forward to seeing her back over a mile and with Oisin on board. She’s up against some old rivals and I’m just hoping to see her bounce back to form and get a clear passage which she has not done since York.

King Alfred has been working nicely and I think is a horse who is going to improve with racing. We’ve got Jamie Spencer on board who will teach him plenty and give great feedback so I’m looking forward to seeing him run in what is undoubtedly going to be a warm Newmarket Maiden. He will not disgrace himself and hopefully he will have a good day out and we can all learn plenty. I imagine he will be better over further in time but this seems a sensible starting point.

Canoodled is in great form and I think the track, trip and conditions will be ideal for her at Newmarket tomorrow. It’s a competitive race but I think she is still a well handicapped filly and I’m hoping that Ray Dawson can give her a good ride and get her out of the stalls well.

Best of luck to all owners today and the team at home!
