American Star wins impressively at Newbury. Today - Ayr Gold Cup Day

American Star was an impressive winner yesterday at Newbury under Oisin Murphy for for David and Sue Ward. Well done to Kajsa who rides him at home and to Elouise who saddled her first winner!

We have an exciting day ahead with four runners at Ayr and Newbury.

Great Ambassador and Popmaster have travelled up to Ayr for the Ayr Gold Cup and have settled in well ahead of today's race. Who knows how the race will pan out and only hindsight will tell us if his draw is good or bad but all I know is that they are both in very good shape, looks fantastic and are more than capable of winning a race of this nature but luck is definitely required as we all know in these sprint handicaps.

Paxos heads to Newbury for the 1.40pm. He is looking and moving really well and I think today is the perfect race for him. It should be lovely ground for him tomorrow and a nice flat track which is exactly what he needs.

Parachute is in really good order and his work has been really pleasing. I think this looks a great opportunity for him at Newbury, the ground should be ideal and it is great to see Tom on board. Coming back in trip should be an advantage for him so I am really excited about seeing him run.
