Another busy day with 5 runners
Today we have 5 runners across 3 meetings.
First up, Caradoc takes his chance in the John Smith's Cup at York under Ross Coakley at 4.05pm. He is in great form and I am really looking forward to seeing him run in the John Smiths Cup again. It is obviously a very tough race but we know he has got a big one in him if everything goes right so fingers crossed.
Mountain Peak is in cracking form and looks a picture. He heads to Ascot for the 3pm Handicap. He is very fresh, happy and well in himself and I am looking forward to seeing him run at Ascot where he has got such good form. I am thrilled Tom is able to ride and being drawn 15 shouldn’t be an issue so hopefully he can run another massive race.
Random Harvest lines up in the 4.45pm Handicap at Ascot. She looks fantastic and I am looking forward to seeing her run back at Ascot this time on the straight mile rather than the round mile. She will be ridden by Saffie and it is going to be fast ground again like it was at the Royal meeting. She is drawn 8 of 10 which shouldn’t be an issue and I think she has a great chance in what looks a wide open and typically competitive Ascot handicap.
Canoodled also runs at Ascot and is in cracking form at home. It is going to be fast ground at Ascot but she ran well at Salisbury on fast ground and if she can jump a bit better I think she can run a big race.
This evening at Salisbury, Poetic Union makes her debut in the 2 year-old Novice at 6.15pm. She is a filly that I like and she has done very well over the last two months. I’m pleased to have started her off at Salisbury as it’s a lovely quiet rural track and it’s a good place to introduce newcomers.
