Stormy Antarctic runs career best at Ascot and Indian Blessing bids for our maiden US win

We could not be more proud of Stormy Antarctic finishing a length and a half behind superstar Roaring Lion when fourth at Ascot yesterday. It was a huge run under a patient Gerald Mosse who settled the 5yo gelding, owned by Mr Siu, beautifully towards the rear of a celebrity packed QEII. Mosse tracked Roaring Lion, the eventual winner, and was never closer than at the line. This was undoubtedly a career best and caps an exceptional year for Stormy Antarctic who has run to within a few pounds every time he has set foot on a racecourse no matter what country it may have been in.

He now heads to Hong Kong where he could face our old stablemate Glorious Forever who has done exceptionally well over there much like his full brother Time Warp. He was a big weak 3yo when he left us and won his last start at Sandown which qualified him for HK. I think Stormy Antarctic will be best over ten furlongs on a tight track and fast ground so should he get in then the Hong Kong Cup is the likely next start for him.

Indian Blessing (pictured), again for Mr Siu, flies the flag in New York today when she lines up in the Grade 3 Athenia Stakes at Belmont. Our Head Lad Charles Guet has been looking after her since she left Kingsdown Stables on the 29th September and he is thrilled with how she has been training since a career best performance at Keeneland on 6th October in the Grade 1 First Lady where she was a never closer third having fluffed her lines at the start. Fergal Lynch is in the saddle again tonight and we are hopeful she can end a very satisfying season on a high. She stays in training and could have a very good year in 2019.
