Weekend runners
We have 7 runners this weekend.
Divya heads to Haydock for the 1.30pm Novice. She looks extremely well and has got a good coat given the time of year. I am really looking forward to seeing her run today over a mile at Haydock and she wouldn’t need to improve a great deal to get off the mark so fingers crossed she can break her maiden.
Arkendale makes his debut today at Haydock in the 3.50pm Maiden and I think ground conditions will be ideal for him. I am not expecting any fireworks but I hope he runs with promise.
Rose Prick heads to Newmarket today for a valuable Nursery where she can hopefully get her head back in front. She has been in good form at home, fresh and well and I think this looks a good spot for her. My only concern is that the sharp nature of Newmarket might catch her out as they quicken down the dip but I am sure she will stay on well up the hill.
Caradoc looks well and I am slightly taking a chance by running him in a deeply competitive race today at Newmarket in the 3.40pm. He is a big price but he is coming down to a good handicap mark now of 89 having been as high as 100 so if he puts his best foot forward he can go very close. I think the trip of 9f is ideal and the track should suit so hopefully he can run a big race at a big price.
On Sunday at Ffos Las:
Above It All heads to Ffos Las in good form. I think it will be interesting to see how he gets on with Saffie taking 3lbs off. I think it looks a good opportunity for him, I think it is quite an open race but fingers crossed he can get back to winning ways.
Shibuya Song runs over 2 miles for the first time. I think she will stay and I hope she puts it in in the closing stages. Headgear off this time and claiming 3lbs will help.
V Twelve is relatively unexposed and hopefully he can make his mark now in handicaps. He has been working well and is a big horse so will hopefully be progressive on a workable mark.
